Installing the TP48300/A
According to actual conditions, use one of the following modes to install the cabinet: installing the cabinet on the rack of
storage batteries, installing the cabinet on the ground, installing the cabinet on the 19-inch open rack, installing the cabinet
on the BTS cabinet.

1. Installing the Cabinet on the Rack of Storage Batteries

Install the rack-mounting ears to the cabinet.

Move the cabinet to the installation position on the rack of storage batteries. Align the expansion bolt holes on the base
in the front of the cabinet with the installation holes for the bolt holes on the rack of storage batteries.Fix the bolts into
the holes and fasten the bolts.

Align the first bolt hole on the base with the bolt hole on the storage rack, and then install other bolts in the proper holes.

2. Installing the Cabinet on the Ground

Determine the installation position of the cabinet, and then mark the positions of the holes to be drilled 1 with a marking pen.

3. Installing the Cabinet on the 19-inch Open Rack (IMU)
Fix the rack-mounting ears into the bolt holes at both sides of the cabinet. Ensure that the base of the rack-mounting ears.
install direction faces the front of the cabinet.
Determine the installation position of the cabinet on the 19-inch open rack, and then install the Ф6 floating nuts at the holes
for bolts. The recommended installation height of the cabinet is 1.5 m. The actual installation height of the cabinet must be
determined according to the stature of installation personnel and installation requirements.

6
Installing PSUs

 Do not put your hands into rectifier slots, avoiding electric shocks.
 When a rectifier is running, a high temperature is generated around the air exhaust vent at the rear. Do not touch the vent or
cover the vent with cables or other objects.

The TP48300/A is configured with two PSUs by default. The rated output current of each PSU is 50 A or 30A. The number of
PSUs depends on actual capacity requirements for the TP48300/A.

 Cables should be more than 20 mm away from heat source components or area, preventing direct damage (melting) to the insulation
layer or functional degradation (aging or broken).
 The bending radius of cables should be greater than or equal to five times the diameter of the cables.
 Cables of the same type should be bound together. Cables of different types should keep a minimum distance of 30 mm from each other to
avoid tangles.
 Cables that are bound together should be close to each other, neat, and free of damage.
 The protection ground cables must not be bound to or tangled with the signal cables. An appropriate distance should be left between them
to minimize interruption.
 AC power cables, DC power cables, signal cables, and communications cables must be bound separately.
 Power cables must be routed straightly. No joint or weld can be found in a power cable. In case of insufficient cable length, use a longer
cable.

1. Installing the Ground Cable

b (Optional) Installing the RS232, RS485, or FE Cable

All ports in this manual are protected by a security mechanism.

According to the actual installation requirements, insert the communication cables into the RJ45 ports on the monitoring
backplane.

Do not connect the power system and the BBU with an Ethernet cable or RJ45 communication cable. If the
customer requires in-band NMS management of the power system, the NMS management requires setting of the
storage battery capacity. For the details of NMS setting, please see the NMS User Guide.

RJ45 port

When out-of-band monitoring is required and the TP48300/A is configured with an SNMP module, connect the FE port on
the SNMP module to the communications equipment over a cable with an RJ45 connector.

4. Installing DC Power Cables to DC-Powered Loads

Install the DC output cable (d1) between the primary load and the TP48300/A and then the DC output cable (d2) between
secondary load and the TP48300/A.

1. Use a torque wrench to tighten bolts on fuse holders to the torque of less than 10 Nm (88.51 lbf.in.).
2. To secure a cable to a circuit breaker, tighten the screw.

BLVD LLVD

5. Installing Power Cables to Storage Batteries (d3)

If there is an output circuit breaker in the battery rack or If there is no circuit breaker, remove one copper bar
cabinet, switch the circuit breaker to the OFF position. from each battery string.

14
1. During battery installation, never short-circuit or reversely connect positive and negative battery terminals,BLVD
circuit breakers must be switched to the OFF position.
2. While connecting the negative terminal of storage batteries to the bolt, ensure that the exposed metal on the torque
wrench does not come in contact with the input terminal on the fuse and the RTN+ busbar. Otherwise, a short
circuit may occur.
3. Secure battery cables to a torque specified in battery documentation. Loose connections will result in excessive
voltage drop or cause batteries to burn out when the current is large.

Connect the positive terminal of storage batteries to the positive DC output busbar, and connect the negative terminal of
storage batteries to the bolt on a battery fuse holder.

1. The following commissioning procedure may result in power failure or alarm generation. Inform the alarm center
before and after the procedure.
2. The commissioning involves various technologies. Only trained personnel are allowed to perform commissioning.
Perform operations strictly in compliance with commissioning instructions.
3. The commissioning is performed with power on. During commissioning, stand on dry insulating objects, and
remove conductive articles such as watches and rings. Use insulated tools.
4. During operations, do not contact two electric bodies that have different currents.
5. During commissioning, check that the status of the related unit or component meets requirements before turning on
any switch.
6. When you are performing operations and do not want others to operate, attach the label "Do not turn on the switch
because operations are in process." to the power distribution device.
7. During commissioning, shut down the device immediately if any fault is detected. Rectify the fault and proceed
with the commissioning.
