Acupressure

Course Length: 6 Hours (3x2 Hours)

What will I learn?


 The basic definition/purpose of Acupressure and a brief history of traditional Chinese Medicine.
 How to locate the 10 acupressure points used for general balancing of the body.
 Hand and ear acupressure techniques that can be practiced on your own body.

How will I learn?


 My tutor will assess my current knowledge of meridians when I start the course and then negotiate learn-
ing objectives with me
 My progress will be reviewed at regular intervals via group and 1:1 Q&A
 I will participate in the theory and practice of Acupressure, reinforcing my learning through practical activi-
ties and the application of Acupressure on myself.

What equipment will I need to bring to the course each week?


A pen and notebook

What skills and abilities will I need to join the course?


 Open to everyone with a desire to learn more about alternative therapies and develop knowledge of how
Acupressure techniques can be used to provide a quick, cost-free way to increase energy and feelings of
well-being, reduce stress and stimulate the immune system.
 No previous knowledge of Acupressure or Meridians necessary
 To be able to read, write and follow basic instructions

 Regular reviews of your Learning Journey and Q&A sessions
 Observation of your practical application

What will be my next stage to increase my skills?


 Sign post to other yoga, reiki, reflexology, psychology or stress management, mental health awareness
and assertiveness training program(s) with ACL
 College: Holistic Therapies (dependant on entry requirements)
