1. MANUAL GEHO TOUCH PANEL

1.1 INTRODUCTION
This manual gives general instructions how to use the HMI panel for the GEHO TZPM piston
diaphragm pumps.
The screens used within this typical manual serves as an example only and may be different from the
actual screens for each application.
The screens and menu structure as programmed within the graphic display are self explaining and
does not require support from a user manual other than general instructions.

Page 3
1.2 PANEL SOFTWARE PROGRAM
The HMI panel program is a compose of several screens. Each has it’s own specific functionality. In
figure 1.2.2 on the next page, a survey of all screens is given.
When the panel is startup, the main screen will appear (figure 1.2.1). From this point the user can
easily switch to the main menu (figure 1.2.2). A group of screens can be distinguished called
operating screens.
These screens normally will be active during operation of the pump. In §1.3 the working of the
operation screens will be explained. The other screens contain additional information about the pump
and functions to influence the pump control. These screens will be explained in §1.4 through §1.8.

1.3.5 ALARM LIST SCREEN
Via the main menu option “Alarm list” you can open the alarm list with a button. The screen contains
the alarm list and several buttons. You find an explanation of these items in the figure below.
When an alarm is detected by the PLC a message will be placed in the alarm list immediately

1.3.7 POPUP ALARM
When the PLC detects an alarm, a popup window with the alarm message will appear on the screen
immediately. This message disappears by pushing the popup window area. For a review of (active)
alarms you can always check the alarm list.
The popup alarm only appears while the operation mode is active. When the operation mode is not
active when the alarm occurs, the alarm message will still popup when you switch to the operation
mode.
The red light above the HMI panel will also give you the warning of a pre alarm (red light blinking) or
an alarm (red light on).

1.3.8 SETPOINTS
When you have activated the analog values popup window, you can always read out the actual
setpoint values directly by pushing on the related text. A second popup window will appear as long as
the text is pressed.

1.4 CHANGE SETPOINTS
A part of the pump control system works with setpoints defined by WEIR MINERALS
NETHERLANDS B.V.
These calculated setpoint values are based on system and environmental conditions, like
temperatures and pressures. Because these conditions can change or deviate, it sometimes may be
necessary to change some setpoints in order to get a better controlled pump.

The HMI panel contains a menu in order to change setpoint values called “the setpoint setup screen”.

Procedure:
Go to the main menu and press the button “Change setpoints”.
A keypad will appear. To go further you need to enter the correct password (supervisor password).
After you typed the correct password and push enter, the setpoint setup screen will appear.

appear. In the popup window you confirm the new value of the related setpoint.
Be sure you have chose the correct setpoint and confirmed the correct new value.

1.5 GRAPHICS
The HMI panel contains a section with information about the discharge pressure/pump speed and
filling/outlet counters of every diaphragm housing (in graphic form).

There is also a possibility to go to a screen named “Operating pressure highest/lowest value”. In that
screen you see the actual operating pressure and two reset buttons to start the measurement.
If you push the first reset button the actual date and time will appear and the measurement of the
discharge highest pressure will start.
If you push the second reset button the actual date and time will appear and the measurement of the
discharge lowest pressure will start.

1.6 MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
In the maintenance control screens it is possible to start and stop every auxiliary motor, to activate
every valve, to see the accumulated value of the running hours and the number of strokes
(daycounter and total counter) and to activate/deactivate the automatic outlet program.
