7” Casing Circulator
700-CE-11B, 700-CE-11C, 11-CE-11A
The 7” CASING CIRCULATOR Inflation Modules provide the means to inflate a packer
and seal against the ID of the casing, allowing circulation from the casing shoe.

Assembly Procedure

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Assure that the latest Revision Level Assembly Drawings, 700-CE-11B, 700-CE-11C,
and 11-CE-11A are utilized.

Read entire manual before proceeding.

Install all “O” Rings and Lubricate with NC-111.

Apply API pipe dope to all threads.

FOR ASSEMBLY OF 11-CE-11A, Go To Step 10

Refer to Drawings 700-CE-11B or 11C

1. Place DRILL COLLAR (700-CE-17B) in vise with TUBE A extending outward.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

The lower end of the TUBE has a sealing area undercut approximately 12” long.
The top end does not.

2. Make up CONNECTOR, 7” (700-CE-125) onto DRILL COLLAR with 14,000 ft-


lbs torque.

3. Make up PACKER TUBE (700-CE-40) into CONNECTOR with the OD sealing
area facing away from the CONNECTOR and torque to 7,000 ft-lbs.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Do Not put wrench on seal area at lower end of PACKER TUBE.

4. Liberally apply pipe dope to OD of PACKER TUBE.

5. Slide INFLATION ELEMENT (700-IE-11, 7” OD) or 700-IE-15 (7”x 10” OD) as


required over PACKER TUBE.

6. Make up onto CONNECTOR and torque to 10,000 ft-lbs.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Do Not torque through the INFLATION ELEMENT, or place wrench on the


rubber cover of the element.

7. Slide PACKER SUB (700-CE-25) over PACKER TUBE and make up into
INFLATION ELEMENT and torque to 10,000 ft-lbs.

Place backup wrench on the lower end of ELEMENT.


Do Not torque through the ELEMENT.

8. Install THREAD PROTECTOR (700-CE-83) on lower end of tool, hand tight.

9. Go to TEST SECTION.

10. Place DRILL COLLAR (700-CE-17B) in vise with TUBE A extending outward.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

The lower end of the TUBE has a sealing area undercut approximately 12” long.
The top end does not.

11. Make up CONNECTOR, 11” (11-CE-125) into DRILL COLLAR with 14,000 ft-
lbs torque.

12. Make up PACKER TUBE (700-CE-40) onto the CONNECTOR with the sealing
area facing away from the CONNECTOR and torque to 7,000 ft-lbs.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Do Not put wrench on seal area at lower end of PACKER TUBE.

13. Liberally apply pipe dope to OD of PACKER TUBE.

14. Slide INFLATION ELEMENT (11-IE-17, 14” OD) over PACKER TUBE.

15. Make up onto CONNECTOR and torque to 12,000 ft-lbs.

Do Not torque through the INFLATION ELEMENT, or place wrench on the


rubber cover of the element.

16. Slide PACKER SUB (11-CE-25) over PACKER TUBE and make up into
INFLATION ELEMENT and torque to 12,000 ft-lbs.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Place backup wrench on the lower end of ELEMENT.


Do Not torque through the ELEMENT.

17. Install THREAD PROTECTOR (700-CE-83) on lower end of tool, hand tight.

Testing Procedure

1. Install the correct size test scabbard over the INFLATION ELEMENT.

2. Make up Test Manifold to Parker Plug in PACKER SUB.

3. Connect Test Pump to QUICK CONNECT in RING WELD.

4. Pump through tool and purge all air from the system.

5. Inflate to 1,000 psi and hold for 15 minutes.

6. Bleed pressure and remove Test Manifold.

7. Disconnect Test Pump.

8. Install the #4 Parker Plug in the PACKER SUB.

9. Install 4 ½” IF Test Fixture in top sub of tool.

10. Make up Plug on bottom of PACKER TUBE.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Do not test against aluminum THREAD PROTECTOR.

11. Purge all air and Test ID of tool assembly to 3,000 psi for 15 minutes.

Disassembly & Inspection Procedure

1. Clamp DRILL COLLAR in vise.

2. Use backup wrench on ELEMENT and remove PACKER SUB.

3. Unscrew ELEMENT from CONNECTOR and slide ELEMENT off of


PACKER TUBE.

4. Remove PACKER TUBE from CONNECTOR.

5. Remove CONNECTOR from DRILL COLLAR.

6. Remove and discard all seals.

7. Thoroughly clean all parts.

8. Inspect threads and seal areas for damage.

9. Reassemble as per Assembly instruction, Section 3.
