LESSON 3 ( RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS )

Question:

Does the responses of Ligaya Elementary School as Monograde teachers and the Kauswagan
Elementary School teachers as multigrade is the same?

Research Hypothesis:

There is no significant difference between the responses of Ligaya Elementary School as


Monograde teachers and Kauswagan Elementary School as multigrade teachers along with the five
variables.
LESSON 4 ( STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM )
Statement of the Problem:

The main purpose of this study was look into the different factors of Monograde teachers and
multigrade teachers in improving teaching of reading, it's comprehension level specifically the
following sub- problems are raised;

1. What are the factors affecting teaching reading among teachers between Ligaya Elementary
School as Monograde and Kauswagan Elementary School as Multigrade interms of:

1.1 Physiological factors

1.2 Intellectual factors

1.3 Psychological factors

1.4 Linguistic factors

1.5 Sociological factors

2. How often these factors are affects teaching reading among teachers between Ligaya Elementary
School and Kauswagan Elementary School.

3. What is the extent of comparability between responses of a monograde pupils/ learners and teachers
and multigrade teachers and pupils/learners along with the 5 variables on the different factors.

4. Is there any significant difference between the responses between the Monograde teachers and
multigrade teachers along with the five variables on the different factors for improving teaching
reading.
LESSON 5 ( IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY )
Significance of the Study:

This research is important to the following groups of teachers of Ligaya Elementary School and
Kauswagan Elementary School.

The findings will serve as the blueprint for the teachers and administrators and improving their
teaching- reading process in their respective school.

The result of this Study will enlightened specifically the Monograde and Multigrade teachers. The
importance of becoming effective and providing quality instructions in pursue consistency in their
approaches in teaching that will lightly develop the learning skills of the pupils/ learners.

The pupils/ learners are beneficiaries of the Study considering that when the Monograde and
Multigrade teachers possess, the high level of confidence in teaching. There is no doubt that the
effective teaching learning would take place, this improving the pupils chance to become successful in
their respective lives.

Likewise, the other researchers shall benefit from the result of this Study I'm terms of findings
inferences on the in refer of quality-teaching will become their base line information when they
conduct similar studies and other environment, there is a great need of this groups to undertake
extension of this study so that they will be also bring into focus to it's comprehension level.

The purpose in the community could be appreciated on how the teachers performed their task, thus,
giving their full support and with the trust and confidence in sending their pupils / learners to the
aforesaid schools with the district to obtain formal education.
LESSON 6 ( SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY )

Scope and Limitation:

This study covered 10 teachers in Ligaya Elementary School as Monograde and 5 teachers in
Kauswagan Elementary School as Multigrade during the school 2023-2024

The variables included in this study are: Physiological factors, intellectual factors, Psychological
factors, Linguistic factors and Sociological factors.
LESSON 7 ( DEFINITION OF TERMS )
CONCEPTUAL DEFINITION:

Reading- is an active dialogue between the author and the readers the basic tool of learning in all
subject.

Comprehension- is the result of interaction between reader source and the data.

Vocalizing- this is the act of sounding acts each word as if you were reading loud.

Communicating- sending, giving or exchanging of information.

Schema- organized knowledge

Psychological factors- feeling about self and about other affect reading performance.

Linguistic factors- to read well, the reader must understand sound-symbol relationship, introductio,
stress, rhythm and pauses.

Sociological factors- reading is a social process affected by attitudes, loyalties, conflicts and
prejudices.

Physiological factors- in reading english and the phil. Language the eyes move from the beginning of
one line to the end of the lines, then make the return sweep.

Respondents- refers to in terms, observes and supervising teacher who answered the checklist.

Skimming- this is quickly going over a text to get the gist.

Scanning- reading for a written text to look for a particular detail or piece of information.

Mono grade class- refers to one grade level of the pupils of different ages, handling in one teacher.

Multi grade class- refers to two grade level of pupils of different ages, handling in one teacher.

OPERATIONAL DEFINITION:

Sampling- it is the process which involves taking a part of a population, making observations on this
representative group and then generalizing the findings to the bigger population.

Stratified Random Sampling- stratum is defined as sub-population and strata consisting of two or
more homogeneous populations.
