Answer all of the questions below using the results of the evaluation in section 1 to guide your answers,
and feedback from your classmates/friends/family for parts c and d.
a) Document your findings on yourself in the four areas focussed on in your evaluation in section 1
as discuss your strongest area.
I have a special spot in my heart for the less fortunate people. I have excellent emotional self-control.
Nobody can truly know what's going on inside my head. I frequently discover ways to divert my
attention away from potentially dangerous situations. Seeing other people achieve in life makes me
happy and makes me feel like I'm a part of it. Even in my failings, I find hope.
b) Reflecting on the results, identify what stood out for you in terms of what it tells you about yourself
as a person.
I am an emotionally strong individual who can make difficult decisions in my life. I am a conscientious
individual who does not take anything for granted. I learn from my mistakes and regard them as a life
lesson. I'm not the type to become depressed easily.
c) Thinking about the questions asked as part of the evaluation and your learnings as part of this
unit, identify five of your emotional strengths.
I disseminate optimism, and if my positivity is misinterpreted as negativity, I take a step back. I'm
aware of my limitations and work within them. Even if the person succeeding in life is a complete
stranger to me, I am glad for them. I know where I can have my emotions valued and understood;
otherwise, I'll keep them to myself. I enjoy socializing, but it takes time for me to do it.
I'm not afraid to try out fresh and inventive ideas since I'm lazy. I'm prone to losing my cool. I can't help
myself when I hear something terrible spoken. I despise being ordered what to do. When I receive a
request, I do my best to fulfil it. I can multitask, but I don't because I try to focus on one thing at a time.
Because I am a decision-maker, I will be able to make some daring decisions in the workplace that will
benefit the firm. I will be able to regulate my emotions and complete tasks on time since I am a self-
controlling person. As a positive person, I will be able to spread positivity in the workplace and
encourage people to work harder. I will be able to witness my employees achieve and prosper in their
life since I am a helpful person.
f) Discuss how you believe your emotional weaknesses hinder your workplace performance and
relationships.
Because I am a lazy person, I may be lagging behind in terms of technology and experimenting with
new innovative ideas that can help the organization grow. Because I am a one-task-at-a-time person, I
may get behind on tasks, affecting the workplace's overall productivity. I may be losing my emotions
and willing to be requested because I am a no-order person.
g) Complete the following table about personal stressors at work. Identify at least four sources of
stress that are most likely to result in workplace stress for you, your stress response (emotional,
physical, behavioural) and actions that you can take (or have taken) to manage stress.
The table includes examples only, as there could be a wide range of responses from students.
Trying out new and Avoiding or being lazy By viewing lessons, I can increase
innovative concepts my motivation and when I'm
working with people, I'm not afraid
to attempt new ideas.
Unjustly treated I believe that the workplace is rude Requesting that each and every
and disrespectful. employee be treated equally.
Favouritism is not encouraged.
h) Review the following list of needs and choose at least three that most trigger your emotions when
you don’t get these needs met. Consider this question in the context of the workplace.
Acceptance Variety
Being understood Predictability
Being in control New challenges
Attention Being loved/liked
Peacefulness Being valued
