It is my pleasure to present the 2022 Lake County Crop and Livestock Report that is prepared
pursuant to Sections 2272 and 2279 of the California Food and Agricultural Code. This report
summarizes the acreage, production and gross value of agricultural commodities produced in
Lake County. This report reflects gross values only and does not represent actual net return to
the producers.

Lake County’s estimated total gross production value for 2022 was $107,098,745. This is a 28%
increase from 2021.

Wine grapes were the number one crop with a gross value of $84,756,086 which is an increase
of 43% from 2021. The total tonnage was 45,637 and the total grape acreage was 10,987 acres.

Pears were the number two crop with a gross value of $16,286,443, which is a decrease of 8%
from 2021. The total tonnage was 16,371 and total pear acreage was 1,375.5 acres.

There were increases in livestock and poultry products (41%), livestock production (11%), field
and seed crops (28%), vegetables (20%). Decreases were noted in walnuts (65%), nursery
production (45%) and timber production (91%).
