Tree Cultivation in Barangay Banlag Valencia City

Introduction

Cultivating Tree is the process in which tree seedlings are transplanted generally for

forestry, land reclamation, or landscaping purposes. Tree cultivation is very necessary

because trees provide oxygen to the environment and make the air quality better. If

more trees are planted, then the world's environment will become a safer place to live

in. Tree cultivation also in reduces pollution, thus making the life of future generations

secure.

Motivation

Trees are very important, valuable and necessary to our existence as they have

furnished us with two important life essentials; food and oxygen. Apart from basically

keeping us alive, there are many other little and big benefits we get from trees.

Therefore, we and barangay officials are taking steps to prevent deforestation and to

promote the benefits of planting trees.

Project Details

The general purpose of the project is to improve the environment of the barangay

Banlag Valencia City. Inculcate among participants the value of community service and

social responsibility. Install among participants the importance of protecting and

preserving the ecosystem. Connect participants and residents of the barangay to the

benefits of trees and foster environmental stewardship.

Issue and Challenges

The only issue that may arise during the process is the utilization of tree seedlings and

cultivating instruments.

Parents have to convince their children that caring for trees before, during, and after

they are planted leads to healthy trees.

Deliverables

We will plan everything ahead of time with the help of our 10 volunteers to assist us

before, during and after the tree cultivation to set up the tree seedlings needed to be
plant, and the participants of the tree planting activity should be at the waiting area

before the designated time Plants/trees to be planted are already prepared in the area.

The seedlings to be used were provided by the barangay. They should bring materials

for planting like bolo, mini shovel, etc. The participants should make a tree guard to

protect the trees. Each participant will be given a permit/waiver before going in the area.

Timeline

Planting between January to March will ensure the survival of your saplings especially

in the first few months after they are planted. This will be the critical period during which

time it can take root and get established.

Recommended time of day start planting at 3pm (as shadows are cast and as

transpiration rate slows). Planting towards the latter part of the afternoon will give the

plant the following evening to recover from the trauma of transplantation.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it would not be wrong to say that the reason we are facing the climate

change problem today is that we could not and did not realize the value of trees and

appreciate them for everything they do, yesterday. But it is never too late to make

amends. We can make things better by planting more trees and facilitating afforestation.

We have done nothing but take from nature for so long. It is high time we gave back to

the earth and there is no time like the present to do a good deed and make the earth a

clean, green, and beautiful place to live in once again. After all, the future generations

must inherit the earth in the same condition it was left to us, if not better. We owe it to

them to make the world a healthy, happy, and safe place to live in.
