Major Gaps identified

Migration of labor class population and absence of EWS housing to cater them, led to
illegal encroachment of the vacant spaces and formation of slums in that area. Due to
slum formations, there is a great disparity seen in development of both the sides of
road.

Recreational spaces like public parks, play grounds are nearly 1% (required is 5% for
one TP scheme area), which urges for more recreational spaces in the study area.

Even though females are willing to work, less contribution of females in work
participation ratio (only 12%) is observed. Reason being male dominated work
environment in the GIDC and household responsibilities.

Labor class job opportunities in GIDC attracting youth of EWS and LIG population as
it is giving them financial independence. As a result less educational standards
(generally till 10th std.) seen in particular that class of population.

Proposal: EWS housing

As these people have sense of belonging with the place they
have been living from years and would not like to go more
