UKCA MARKING FOR PRESSURE

EQUIPMENT

ATTAIN ACCESS TO THE GREAT BRITAIN PRESSURE

EQUIPMENT MARKET WITH UKCA MARKING
Since 1 January 2021, pressure equipment and other products that are placed in Great Britain (England,
Scotland, and Wales) market need to display the UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking. This replaces
the European Union (EU)’s CE marking. Manufacturers and importers need to take the necessary steps to
ensure that UKCA marking is affixed to their pressure equipment with existing certificates by the end of
the transitional period on 1 January 2023. [On 14 November 2022 the UK Department for Science,
Innovation and Technology (DSTI) announced that the transitional period will be extended up to 31
December 2024.]

If your pressure equipment has a CE certification, it can still be placed on the market in Great Britain with
this marking until 31 December 2024.

Please note that the requirements in Great Britain (England, Wales, Scotland) are different from the
requirements in Northern Ireland.

In Great Britain, products with CE marking can still be sold until 31 December 2024. From 1 January 2025
onwards, they will require UKCA marking.

In Northern Ireland, products with CE marking can continue to be sold after 31 December 2024. Dual
labeling with UK(NI) CE is also possible.
