Case Study - Koala t-shirt
1. Introduction

Koala t-shirt was founded in 1992 by Mr Koah La

and his wife Tee Shar. They own a small store in
Sydney CBD selling t-shirts. They would like to have
a website so that people could also buy t-shirts
online.

They buy t-shirts from a big factory located in

Cabramatta and resell them in their store. The t-
shirts cost around $7.00 per unit, and they sell for
around $20.00 and $30.00 (high quality fabric).

They started selling t-shirts for kids, men and

women. In 2000 they introduced extra-large t-shirts as this market increased a lot.

Koah is responsible for buying t-shirts from t-shirt4All, a factory located in Cabramatta. He
goes there every Monday and perform the following tasks:

● buy new clothes

● return t-shirts the store didn’t sell from previous week or month
● make the remaining payments
He is also responsible for the Finance, controlling the profits and expenses.

Tee is responsible for selecting the clothes that need to be bought using a catalogue T-shirt4All
provide. She is also responsible for the store layout and how the clothes are displayed. She is
thinking to buy a small software to store the customers and send them an email when a new
collection arrives in the store.

3. Problem
Koala t-shirt is growing fast, and staff number have increased. Management wants to provide
all staff to be aware of the copyright, ethics and privacy issues. Staff can report grievance using
the grievance procedure page. Staff and customer are unable to provide feedback.

4. Solution
You were hired to build the website for Koala t-shirt.

You will have to research the legislative requirements and create intellectual property,
copyright, ethics, privacy, and grievance documents for Koala t-shirts based on case study.
