The Star-Child

«The Star-Child» is a fairy tale about a baby who was found in the forest. He grew up
to be a proud and angry boy. When his real beggar mother met him, he was rude and
transformed into an ugly creature.

Later the boy was sold as a slave to an evil magician and the star-child had three
tasks. In each task, he found gold but gave it to beggars, so his master was very angry.

When he returned to the city, the star-child met his beggar parents. He asked for their
forgiveness, and later it turned out that they were the king and queen. The boy turned
handsome again and ruled kindly for three years before a cruel king took his place.

The Birthday of the Infanta

«The Birthday of the Infanta» is a fairy tale about a hunchbacked dwarf who was
found in the woods and brought to amuse the king's daughter, the Infanta, on her birthday.
She enjoys his performance but later mocks him. The dwarf thinks that she loves him. But
realizing her cruelty, he dies of a broken heart, and the Infanta decides not to have
playmates with heart.

The Young King

«The Young King» is a fairy tale about a boy who becomes king after his mother's
death. He is excited to get his crown, scepter, and robe for his coronation. But then he has
three bad dreams.

In his first dream, he sees poor people making his robe but they dont have enough
food and money. In the second dream, he sees slaves who try to find pearls for his scepter,
and one of them dies. In the third dream, people mine rubies for his crown in dangerous
place.

On the coronation day, the Young King doesn't want the fancy clothes. Instead, he
makes a crown from thorns, a scepter from a stick, and wears his old tunic. When he gets
to the cathedral, something magical happens, and everyone bows to him and believes that
God made him king.
