ICT Telecommunications Engineer

Role:

• Supports the offshore ICT Senior Engineer in supervising maintenance CONTRACTOR team for
the different ICT systems onboard (radio, Marine, Tetra, GDMSS, VSAT, TVRO, LTE, microwave,
etc);
• Supports the offshore ICT Senior Engineer to ensure proper provision of telecommunications
(Voice, Video and Data) to the offshore facility with the support of HQ team.
• The successful candidate will be a good connoisseur in telecoms, with good client facing, service
management and operations delivery skills. The candidate must have technical experience with
Network equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Checks continuously the availability of the link between offshore facility and remote sites (Milan,
Maputo and Pemba).
• Ensures, always, proper operation of telecommunications equipment.
• Supervises maintenance of equipment and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Support his/her direct superior in controlling that the services (VSAT, LTE, TVRO, etc) provided
by the providers are acceptable and that the level of quality is in line with Company
requirements.
• Maintains site inventory of critical telecommunications equipment.
• With the support of HQ team monitors and analyzes system performance, such as network
traffic, security, and capacity.
• Verifies and proposes, jointly with Cybersecurity unit, controls to provide security to Telecoms
and Network infrastructure.
• Documents user support activities, such as system problems, corrective actions, resolution
status, and completed equipment installations.
• Under the supervision of his/her direct responsible works with maintenance staff to install,
remove, or relocate user connectivity equipment and devices.

ICT Telecommunications Engineer

• Supports the offshore ICT Senior Engineer assessing FLNG needs to improve on-board
telecommunications systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Telecommunications Engineering or similar;

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role;
• CCNA (Routing and switching) Cisco certifications are a plus;
• Any other CISCO certification is a plus.
• Any VSAT, LTE, Radio, Microwave certification is a plus

Competencies

• knowledge of VSAT and Wireless technologies, architecture and operation.

• knowledge in installation, configuration and operation of Cisco equipment (switches, routers,
firewalls, AP, etc.).
• knowledge of Telecoms and Network architectures.
• knowledge of RF Technologies and related equipment.
• Knowledge of radio systems (Marine, Tetra Systems, etc)
• knowledge of security software and hardware requirements for telecommunications links
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN, routing protocol, security rules, structured cabling, network
equipment (routers and switches), bandwidth control, verification of the correct implementation
of QoS, Firewall, VPN, etc.
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).
