Chemical safety
Components which are used in these vending machine may contain small amounts of
chemical components, and therefore be dangerous if such damage. Parts that are included
in this category;
 Electrolytic Capacitors
 NiMh batteries
 Semiconductors with Beryllium Oxide and Gallium Arsenide
 Opto-Electronic parts with Gallium Phosphide
One should treat these items with great caution because of the corrosive and fire hazardous
properties. If one accidentally comes into contact with these chemicals then rinse
thoroughly with water. Especially consult with eye contact medical personnel.
Fire safety
The housings of the components used are made of heat resistant material. Electrical
overload can cause enough heat to ignite and damage themselves and possibly adjacent
components of the chemicals in the components.
Always replace components with those of the same value as the original parts and note
when connecting to the polarity where applicable.
In case of fire the following may endanger health;
 Particleboard: It can formaldehyde fumes that can cause irritation and mucous
membranes.
 Plastics: It released toxic gases can cause irritation to the airways.
 Glass: high temperatures cause the windows to crack which can cause injury.

2.1 THE STRUCTURE OF THE GAMING MACHINE

The gaming machine, in this case a game star slot machine, is made according to all the
norms and standards. Basically, it is constructed from metallic and plastic parts. In terms of
structure, it is a gaming machine from the Gold Club: Classics Series round tops with 19.5”
video topper and two 23.8” TFT monitor, one with touch screen controller. In addition to
the monitor, the machine is equipped with external keys or optional 10.1” touch monitor
that give the player easier and simpler access and use.

In addition to the components visible externally, each gaming machine also comprises high-
performance computer elements and components. The Windows embedded operating
system is used with solid state drive.

Regarding means of payment of credit and the payout, we only use quality and tested
devices, such as acceptors by the manufacturer JCM, Future Logic, ticket printer, Azkoyen
coin acceptors and hoppers by a well-known British manufacturer.

The gaming machine cabinet is made of sheet metal and is painted black. The front of the
machine, which also forms the door, is made of strong steel. The door of the gaming
machine is opened using a lock and a pin, which are fixed to the right side of the cabinet.

20 devices can be connected to the multiplexer, which means that it has 20 input channels.
Currently on the slot multiplexer two channel. One channel is used for SAS online system,
second for SMIB online system. The number of channels is limited with the speed of data
transfer, i.e. the higher the speed, the lower the number of the channels used. In addition to
the data transfer connections the multiplexer also needs one-way electrical supply with
voltage between +7V and + 30V.

3 SETUP & SOFTWERE

3.1 THE OPERATING SYSTEM

As we know, the main part of the gaming device (Video Slot) is a computer, which enables
the performance of all major processes, such as all kinds of control over the game of slot,
security control, accounting of payments, etc. The Video Slot is a highly complex gaming
device, therefore all the processes that are performed require an adequate security level. In
other words that means that the operator or anyone else do not have access to the
windows environment. In our case this environment is windows embedded. In addition to
the protection itself, regarding the access to the working environment, some files that are
very important for the slot operation will be protected by the WIBU key, which means that it
will be impossible to modify the files related to the WIBU key.
Access to the individual parts is shown in the figure below.

Presentation of user access to the individual environments

As seen in the figure above, the user has access only to the BIOS software tool and to the
Slot game, which will be carried out automatically when the gaming device is turned on. The
user will not have access to all other programs and to the windows environment. How can
you leave the slot game and entry to BIOS setup window? If you want to do this
- Go to game menu and exit game
- When slot is starting before game start
When you see a window show on picture below you have 15s for decide what you want. So
if you want to enter to BIOS window you just press left top corner if touchscreen is used or

PC Settings: The PC needs to be set to an appropriate graphics mode that has the same
resolution as the LCD panel to have clear screen image. The vertical refresh rate should be
set to one of 56~75Hz, non-interlaced signal.
LCD display System Settings: The OSD (On Screen Display) provides certain functions to
have clear image and others. This board supports 5 buttons OSD operation as a standard.
The control functions defined on OSD operation are as below.

PC Graphics Output: Signal quality is very important. If there is noise or instability in the PC
graphics output, it may result in visible noise on the display. Refer to the graphic modes
table in specification section for supported modes. Non-interlaced & interlaced video input
is acceptable.
HDMI cable: See ‘Chapter 3. Topper connection’.
Power supply: See ‘Chapter 3. Topper connection’.
Power on: Switch on the monitor by using the on/off switch on the OSD control buttons.
PC Setting: The controller has been designed to take a very wide range of input signals.
However, to optimize the PC’s graphic performance, we recommend choosing 60Hz vertical
refresh rate. This will not cause screen flicker.

The chosen OSD settings will be stored in memory. The OSD menu can be cleared from the
screen by moving the selection bar to the EXIT MENU icon pressing the SEL button. The OSD
menu will automatically be cleared from the screen after a few second of non-use.
