I like taking pictures because it allows me to capture joyful moments like funny faces in the background or smiling friends that I may have otherwise missed. However, I dislike being photographed myself as I am not photogenic and only look good in selfies with filters. While photography is a beautiful hobby, I prefer to be the photographer rather than the subject of photos.

I like that I can always find something in a photo
that I missed while I was taking the photo. Sometimes it is someone in the background making a funny face which makes me laugh. If the camera did not click right at that second, no one would have seen that face. Other times it is the smiling faces of my friends which remind me about what that moment meant to them and to me. Both of these examples tie back to the joy that we were experiencing in life. The joy was captured and as you look back on the picture, you see the tiny details, a smile or silly face of that joy that you would have missed if the camera was not there. But i hate being in the photos. Even though I feel pretty at the moment, I never like it in the photos. I'm non-photogenic, just like my cat. And the only selfies I'm pretty at are photos with a filter on snapchat. So yes, photography is a beautiful hobby, but someone should only take photos and not be photographed.
