Remedial Massage: Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is an important skill for massage therapists to learn as it provides an alternative treatment to remedial massage. It can also be used in conjunction with regular massage when fluid reduction of a specific part of the body is essential to effect a thorough treatment. The following are some of the areas we will cover in this course: provide students with an understanding of the lymphatic pathways of the body illustrate how to achieve a complete evacuation of the lymph nodes and thus effect a complete drainage of specific areas enable students to assess clients for fluid retention be able to explain to a client why they would benefit from an MLD treatment begin to become proficient in the removal of fluid.
It should be noted that the course does not enable participants to call themselves massage therapists or set themselves up in business as a massage therapist.
