Present continuous a. Express an action which is happening at the
moment of sp

a. Positive Now, at the moment, at this time, at present, right
S + am/ is/ are + V-ing now.
After imperatives
E.g. I am learning English at the moment.
Listen! What language is he speaking?
B. Negative. b. Express an action which is happening around the
S + am/ is/ are/ + not + V- ing moment of speaking.
I am not working now. This week, this month, this year.
I am learning for exam this month.
C. Interrogative. C. Express the near future.
Am/ is/ are + S + V-ing?

Tonight, tomorrow, next week… d. Verbs of mind.

Some verbs can not be used with the S + think (believe) that + clause
Form V-ing
continuous tenses.
- Add ing: teach – teaching
a. Verbs of emotion. - Drop ‘e” add –ing. Type- typing
Smell, taste, sound, look + Adj See- seeing, lie- lying
- Double consonants add – ing
b. Verbs of hobbies Run- running, swim- swimming
Like, love, dislike, hate… Begin- beginning, admit – admitting
Note.
c. Verbs of possession. Always with present continuous to express complaint.
Have, have got, possess, belong to, own I am always losing my keys.
