This Question Paper has 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.


Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each)
with sub- parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5
marks, 2 Qs of 3 marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An
internal choice has been provided in the 2marks questions of Section E

36 Two sisters Kaashvi and Sona started a business together. They decided to
share their capitals depending upon the variable expenditure. The capital of
the two partners together is given by polynomial p(x) = 3x² + 14x + 8, which
is the product of their individual share factors.
Use the above information to answer the following questions:
(i) Find the total expenditure of Kaashvi and Sona, when x = 100 ( in ₹) . 1
(ii) Find the linear factors of the polynomial p(x). 2

(ii) If x + 2 is the factor of x – 2ax + 16, then find the value of a.

(iii) Reema was a common friend who wanted to invest as a partner in their 1
business. Her capital is given by polynomial g(x) = x + 5. Find the new
capital.
37 BSE is stands for a disease called Bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
"Bovine" means that the disease affects cows, "spongiform" refers to the way
the brain from a sick cow looks spongy under a microscope, and
"encephalopathy" indicates that it is a disease of the brain. This disease is
commonly called mad cow disease.

A farmer has a field ABCD formed by two pair of parallel roads as shown
below in which l ∥ m and p ∥ q. His four cows were suffering from BSE. He
tied them at four corners of his field ABCD.

(i) Write the measure of ∠𝐴𝐵𝐶 + ∠𝐵𝐶𝐷 . 1


(ii) If ∠1 = 40° , then find the measure of ∠ 3 + ∠𝐴𝐷𝐶 = 2

(ii) If ∠1 = 40° , then find the measure of ∠ 2.
(iii) If ∠𝐷𝐴𝐶 = 30°, then find ∠ACD. 1
38 To reduce pollution, Delhi government has started a new campaign "red
light on, engine off". For this purpose, volunteers have been appointed to
create awareness among people. The positions of volunteers are given in
the below Cartesian plane.
Points A, B, C, D, E, F, G, P and Q are the positions of volunteers. Based on
this information, answer the following questions:

(i) Write the coordinates of the point G. 1


(ii) Write the two sets of collinear points from the given figure. 2

(ii) If point E is shifted 3 units towards its right, then write the coordinates of
point, so obtained.
Also, name the shape obtained by joining the points E, A, C and B.
(iii) What is the perpendicular distance of the point C from the x-axis? 1
