SUB TOPIC: WEATHERCHANGES.

OBJECTIVES: BY THE END OF THE LESSON YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO:

I) Observe weather
II) Identify weather changes
III) Further develop genuine interest in weather changes.
Background information: learners should have the ability to define weather.
INTRODUCTION:
It begins by the teacher asking learners to get out of the class and observe weather.
Teacher points at the sun and asks learners to name it. He proceeds to point at the sky and asks
whether they can see clouds or not. All then come back to class.

Teacher displays photo of sun onto a projector screen and asks “What is this?”
Learner 1: “ It is the sun”.
Teacher: Good, it is the sun. So the weather is sunny when we see the sun.

Teacher flashes the photo of clouds on the screen and asks “What is this?” as he points at it.
Learner 2 responds “It is a cloud.
Teacher: very good, let all say “cloud”.
Learner 3: cloud.

Teacher: so when we see the clouds in the sky, the weather is said to be cloudy.
Teacher displays the photo of trees bending due to strong winds and asks “What can you see?”
Learner: these are trees bending.
Teacher: “what caused the bending?”
Learner: I think it is the wind.
Teacher: Yes it due to wind and the weather is windy.

Teacher flashes on the screen a photo of a raining day. He asks, “What can you see?”
Learner: it is raining.
Teacher: “And how do we call it when it is raining?”
Learner: it is a rainy day.
Teacher: Thank you, it is a rainy weather.

Teacher flashes a photo of a calm day and asks “What is happening here?”
Learner: “I can see a cool day.
Teacher: Very good it is called a calm weather.
Conclusion: the clips of various weather elements are displayed on the same chart and names given
with some missing letters. Learners are asked to fill in the missing letters as they match
correct names with the photos using their laptops.
