NSTP-1

Date: June 24 2023

Location: Sitio Latay, Barangay Camflora, San Andres Quezon

Duration: 12:00pm-3:00pm

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) is a program mandated by the Philippine government that
aims to develop the civic consciousness and defense preparedness of Filipino youth. As part of our NSTP-
CWTS (Civic Welfare Training Service) course, our group organized a feeding program to address the
issue of malnutrition among underprivileged children in our community. This narrative report provides a
detailed account of our experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating the feeding program.

Preparation:

To ensure the success of the feeding program, our class formed committee responsible for the planning,
coordination, and implementation of the event. The committee members divided tasks among themselves,
including securing the venue, acquiring food supplies, promoting the event, and recruiting volunteers
(Roilan Dahunan and Anson Urcia).

Implementation:

On the day of the feeding program, our class arrived early (10:30am) at the venue to set up the necessary
arrangements .We decorated the area with colorful curtain, and sound system. The tables and chairs were
arranged in an organized manner, allowing for easy distribution of food and interaction of with the
beneficiaries.

Volunteers from our class and our instructor Mr. Owen Montero enthusiastically assisted in the
preparation. The local Barangay especially the Barangay Captain of Barangay Camflora Raul R. Endonila
also provided a support to our program by allowing implementation of this activity.

At the start of the program, we gathered the beneficiaries, consisting of unprivileged children from the
surrounding community. The children, ranging aged 10 years old and below, eagerly lined up with their
parents or guardians displaying excitement and anticipation.

We commence the program with an opening prayer followed by a brief introduction about the objectives
of feeding program by our class president MR. Johnrey Quintana and a short message by our instructor
Mr. Owen Montero. We emphasized the importance of nutrition and the need to combat malnutrition
among children.
Food Distribution:

The highlight of the event was the distribution of nutritious meals. Our class collaborated with sponsor
(JPF ONLINE SHOP) to provide balance and wholesome meals. Each child received a plate filled with
spaghetti, fried chicken and Pancit Bihon ensuring a well-rounded and nourishing meal. Our class
actively engaged with the children, helping them carry their plates and ensuring they received adequate
portion.

While the children enjoyed their meals, we organized fun and interactive activities to foster a joyful and
inclusive environment. We facilitated games, encouraging active participation and creativity. The
children enthusiastically joined in, displaying their talents and sharing laughter and smiles.

Conclusions and Impact :

The feeding program concluded with closing program ceremony, during which we expressed our
gratitude to the attendees, volunteers and sponsor for their support.

The NSTP feeding program had a significant impact on the community. A total of 35 children were
served nutritious meals, addressing their immediate hunger needs. The educational session provided
valuable knowledge on nutrition and hygiene, empowering both children and parents to make informed
choices regarding their health.

Moreover the program fostered a sense of camaraderie and social responsibilities among the participants.
The interactions between the volunteers and beneficiaries created a warm and inclusive atmosphere,
leaving a lasting impressions on everyone involved. The feeding program not only nourish thei bodies of
the children but also nourished their spirits with love and compassion.

Moving forward, our class plans to organize more initiatives aimed at addressing the various needs of the
community. We firmly believe that through such programs, we can contribute to building a heathier, more
caring society, one step at a time.

Acknowledgment:

We extend our sincere gratitude to all the individuals.
