Frontline Assistant
Job Purpose
The role is to
• support the delivery of Registration Certificate Service to ensure a high-quality service,
• work as a member of the Registration Certificate Service team and under limited supervision
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
• First point of contact for customers coming to the office to enquire or purchase a certified copy
of a birth, death or marriage certificate.
• Facilitate searches in the Lancashire registration records, accurately identifying information
requested and preparing certified copy certificates for signing.
• Undertake all aspects of the certificate services production workflow, ensuring the registers are
correctly filed in the repository and the security of all certificate stock.
• Process customer applications, collect appropriate fees, and undertake front line duties in
advising members of the public on all enquires relating to the Registration Service including
legal requirements.
• Respond to telephone, face to face, e-mail or postal communications generated by the service.
• Undertaking duties in relation to opening and closing routines, key holding, daily cash
handling/recording income.
• Work with a range of partners to deliver a high-quality service to the community
• Ability and willingness to be a flexible, pro-active and an effective team member and work under
limited supervision
