FES/BLD/18/45034 400 LEVEL Block Molding For the molding of the blocks a mix ratio of 1:6 was used, which produces about 40 6" blocks and 30 to 35 9" blocks. Lintels The reinforcements used for the lintels are 12mm rods for runners and 10mm rods for stirrups. Concrete mix ratio of 1:4:4 and 1:2:2 used interchangeably for casting. Block-work Forming This involves creating or constructing walls or partitions using building blocks Block Setting This is accurately positioning the building blocks according to the architectural drawing or design. Concrete Fascia Horizontal panels made of concrete, placed on the outer edge of a building's exterior wall. Beams Horizontal structural members that support the weight of floors, roofs, and other elements. Columns Vertical structural members that transfer loads from beams and other components to the foundation. Staircase A structure consisting of threads and risers Suspended Floor Slab Structural elements that are supported by beams, columns , or walls. Concrete Curing The process of maintaining favorable moisture and temperature conditions to facilitate hydration, which enables the concrete to gain strength and attain its desired properties. Conclusion In conclusion, my SIWES experience at Litec Construction Company has been invaluable.
