Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

1. What is Seably?

Seably is an online maritime learning platform where the content is being built up
from various sources, providing a rich source of training material. The content is
verified before it is published on Seably.

2. Why do I have to use Seably?

Seably is replacing Videotel On Demand (VOD) across all Synergy ships as a new
learning platform. Seably is more seafarer-friendly in terms of convenience and
use. It empowers the seafarers to complete the training at their own pace, in their
own convenient time using their own chosen device.

3. Can I download ‘Seably’ app in my mobile?

Yes. ‘Seably’ app can be downloaded via Play store (in Android) and App store (in
iOS).

4. Can I download Seably app in my Laptop/Desktop?

No. To access ‘Seably’ in your Laptop/Desktop, you must use this URL
(www.seably.com).

5. Do I need internet connection to complete my courses?

Internet connection is required to register into Seably and to Sync data with shore
servers. There is option to download courses in your device (mobile phone /
tablets). Thereafter, the courses can be completed offline without internet
availability also.

It is advised to register in Seably when you have good internet connection and
download most of the courses assigned to you. And complete the courses later in
your own convenient time.

6. How much percentage should I score to pass/complete the course?

Most of the courses have a passing percentage of 70%. Very few courses have
80%, 90% and 100% passing percentage.

7. Can I do multiple courses at the same time?

Yes. You can be enrolled in multiple courses at the same time. The courses may
be at the different stages of completion. The status of each course is always
available in your Seably dashboard.

8. If I fail to score minimum passing percentage, does that mean I have failed and
cannot appear for the course again?

If you fail to score minimum passing percentage in a course, you can continue to
learn the course until you pass.

9. How are courses assigned to me?

The courses are assigned subject to pre-designed training matrix which is reviewed
by office. The courses in your Seably profile are mapped as per your rank and
vessel type, which is regularly updated.

10. After completing a course, where can I find my certificate?

The certificate will be automatically sent to your registered email address. You can
also find your certificate in your mobile app dashboard.

11. What is the validity of the certificate?

Most of the courses have a validity of 2 years. Some courses have 3 years validity
and very few have a lifelong validity to it.

12. In what languages can I learn my courses?

All the courses assigned to our seafarers are currently in English only.

13. Is it mandatory for me to complete the assigned courses when offshore?

No. It is not mandatory that you must complete your assigned courses while
offshore. You can complete the course onboard/ashore at any time of your
convenience. The courses must be completed within the defined deadline visible
on your Seably dashboard.

14. Can I do additional courses that is not assigned to me?

Yes. The seafarers are most welcomed to take as many training courses as they
wish in addition to the courses assigned to them.

15. Do I have to inform the master/office regarding my Training progress?

No. The progress is synced continuously when you use your app. So, your
progress automatically gets recorded/noticed by the office.

16. Do I have to pay for the courses?

No. The entire content in Seably is available free of cost for Synergy seafarers
who have registered through the Synergy/Seably Invite. This includes the assigned
courses as well as all the other courses available in Seably.
