The given line illustration delineates how many stores closed and
opened in a particular country from 2011 to 2018.
A glance at the diagram reveals that there was a downward trend during
the whole period. The number of shop being closed was more than the
figure for them being opened.
To begin with, it is conspicuous that the year 2012 experienced a steep
fall of around 4500 stores openings from 8500 to 4000. In the next two
years, there was a substantial upward trend in the number of shop
openings from 4000 and then hit the apex at 6200. After having
decreased dramatically to 4000 openings in 2015, the figure remained
relatively stable and then reached the lowest point at 3000.
In terms of shop closures, before having deteriorated to the bottom at
800 in 2015, the data fluctuates significantly from roughly 6200 to
nearly 6500. As can be seen from the graph, the number of closures go
up noticeably from 800 to 5200 then stabilized slightly before having
stood at 5100 in the end of the period
