slip stitch your hook into the fabric from front to back where you want your stitches to
start, get the slip knot on your hook and pull it through your work, from the
back to the front, insert the hook into the next place where you want your
stitches to go, yarn over at the back of the fabric, pull through your work and
through the loop on your hook to complete the slip stitch.
TIPS
HOW TO READ THE PATTERN
For example: A col: 32SC, [2SC], B col: SC2tog, 5SC, [2SC], C col: SC2tog, 33SC.
Explanation: With A col work 1SC in next 32 stitches, then in next stitch work 2SC (finish the
second SC with B col (this way we change the color)), then continue working with B col
make SC2tog, then work 1SC in next 5 stitches, then make 2SC in one stitch (again finish
the second SC with C col), continue working with C col make SC2tog in next stitch, then
work 1SC in next 33 stitches.
STUFFING SOFT TOY
The way you stuff will be crucial in determining the finished product shape. For the toy, I
use a hollow fiber and I recommend putting in small amounts of stuffing and building up
a shape. Try to fill up right to the end, in all corners.
Insert a tapestry needle carefully between crocheted stitches from outside to move
stuffing perfectly into place and 'sculpt' the stuffed pieces.
TAPESTRY CROCHET
Crochet as usual with the non-working color carried inside the stitch. Color change: complete
the previous stitch in the new color. This means you read the color chart until it is time to switch
colors, in the stitch previous to the new color, complete the final yarn over and draw through with
the new color you are switching to. Always change color in the last stitch of a current color
completing the last stitch with a new color
