Teachers have more of an impact on who their students become than they could ever

imagine. It only takes one teacher. One teacher to make a child feel like they can do it all, and

one teacher to tell them they will never amount to anything. Affirmation drives them forward,

while harsh judgment crushes their spirits. For me, it is my goal to be the teacher that makes

every child feel like they can do anything. To nurture individuality and allow students to use

their voices to ask questions, express concerns, and just interact with each other and with me. To

collaborate with the students to create an environment that best fits their needs while providing

them with the needed structure and expectations.

It also a goal of mine to do the work to understand the students, whether through surveys

that identify their learning style or just taking notes on their strengths and weaknesses. Another

goal is to help them meet their physical needs such as providing them with food and clean water,

fixing their hair occasionally, and even having menstrual products available for any students who

may need it. It is my duty as a teacher to provide for my students in every way they may need,

and I plan to fulfil that duty to the best of my abilities.
