ACTIVITY 1

Sambitan, Mark Kevin G. 2nd Year BSED-Social Studies

Look at the two teachers in the pictures below. What does picture A show of
the teacher? What about picture B?
The Picture A depicts a teacher who utilizes a traditional way of teaching. It
was not so engaging and more likely a teacher-centered approach. On the
other hand, the picture B shows a teacher using technology in delivering class
lessons. It greatly encourages students participation and is more likely a
student-centered approach.

Picture A Picture B
Teacher with Traditional Technology Teacher with Digital Technology

Who is better equipped to handle the 21st century learners? Teacher A or

Teacher B? Why? Which of the two teachers would you like to become when
you graduated? Why?
The better equipped to handle 21 st century learners is the Teacher B. I
would like to the Teacher B as a soon to be teacher.

Give reasons for choosing Picture A:

Give reasons for choosing Picture B:

For me, the better equipped teacher to handle the 21st century learners is the
Teacher B. The 21st century learners are characterized with being techy, independent,
creative and resourceful and teacher B who utilizes digital technology is clearly
compatible with them. Teacher B will not just be spoon feeding the learners but will
guide them on how to properly use the different resources that will facilitate their
growth as learners. Teacher B will by using digital technology will be able to attract
students’ attention so that the class discussion will be active and engaging.

As a soon to be teacher, I want to be like the Teacher B because that is what the
need and demand of the time out of me. I want to be be like the teacher B because I
want to incorporate the use of the different digital technologies in my class discussions
for it to be engaging, active and productive. Additionally, I want to be like the teacher
B because I want to a facilitator teacher who wants to encourage learners to be
independent, not a teacher who just spoon feeds them.

ACTIVITY 3
Write a paragraph about your personal experience on how technology has
influenced your life as a learner from elementary, high school and college.

How technology influenced my life as a learner

Technology has a great effect on my life as a learner. Technology is very

useful to in my academic life. It comes handy especially in searching for
terms, related articles and details about a particular topic in google and
even videos from youtube for me to a wide knowledge and in-depth
understanding. It is also very helpful to me especially in making
powerpoint presentations which I use in reporting. Technology is also of
great help to me in making my school activities, essays and assignments
using microsoft applications and WPS applications. Technology enables
me to easily communicate to my teacher about the assignments,
activities and projects, and easily communicate to my classmates,
groupmates in making them especially that in college us classmates are
living very far from each other. Indeed, technology has really a big
influence on my academic life.

How will I use technology when I become a Teacher

As a soon to be 21st century teacher, I will utilize the different

technologies that are available in a way that I will be an effective teacher who
imbues knowledge, skills and expertise to my students. I will use powerpoint
presentations to have a better presentation my instructional materials. I will
use different forms of media like video presentations to make my class more
engaging and also to catch the interest and attention of the learners. I will use
microsoft excel to easily compute the grades of the learners. I will use
messenger and google classroom in letting the learners know the school
activities, assignments and projects, and I will utilize google meet and other
available app to have an online class especially in the event of a pandemic or if
the school is implementing a high breed learning. Teacher is indeed is very
useful to a teacher.
