Republican Letter To DOJ Over SJP
Republican Letter To DOJ Over SJP
Republican Letter To DOJ Over SJP
We are writing to express our concerns regarding the potential coordination between the
National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and known Foreign Terrorist Organizations
(FTOs) or sanctioned individuals and entities. We fully support the First Amendment rights of
American citizens to peaceably assembly and exercise their free speech rights. Our concern is
that a Foreign Terrorist Organization or their intermediaries may be coordinating with foreign
nationals, who have been allowed into country on student visas, to promote violence against
American citizens based on their religion. Protests on college campuses led by SJP have created
specific threats to the safety and well-being of Jewish students.
The timing of SJP's release of their "Day of Resistance Toolkit" manifesto so soon after the
terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel suggest potential coordination between SJP and Foreign
Terrorist Organizations or their intermediaries. A recent report by the Network Contagion
Research Institute revealed that funds have been illegally flowing from foreign entities to US
college and university campuses, including $2.7 billion from Qatar, $1.1 billion from Saudi
Arabia, and $431 million from the United Arab Emirates.1 We are urging DOJ to investigate
whether FTOs or sanctioned entities are providing SJP with financial support or material support.

5. Can a foreign national in our country on a student visa coordinate with an intermediary
for an FTO to promote messaging from an FTO, such as a flyer glorifying a terrorist on a
paraglider?
6. Was the “Day of Resistance Toolkit” featuring a Hamas terrorist on a paraglider created
by a foreign national in our country with a visa? Was it created by an FTO, an
intermediary for an FTO, or a sanctioned individual and then shared with SJP?
I request that your department conduct a thorough investigation into these matters to protect the
safety and well-being of American students and potential threats to national security.
Sincerely,
Eric Burlison
Member of Congress
