ABSTRACT:

This study examines the impact of nutrition education on diet quality, sustainable nutrition, and eating
behavior among 204 individuals in the 3rd and 4th grades of Başkent University Faculty of Health
Sciences. The study used a cross-sectional survey and the Mean Adequacy Ratio (MAR) score to evaluate
diet quality and the Sustainable and Healthy Eating Behaviors Scale to measure sustainable and healthy
eating behaviors. The results showed that 44.8% of individuals in the Nutrition and Dietetics program
had a 'good' diet quality, while 56.4% in other programs had a 'good' diet. No significant difference was
found in MAR levels based on department. The study concluded that nutrition education is effective in
promoting sustainable and healthy eating behaviors, and it is crucial to increase public health awareness
about this issue. The study underscores the importance of nutrition education in promoting individual
health and a sustainable environment.
