Dear Sri/Smt. ... Date: 30.11.2023
‘A Temple Trustee acts in a volunteer capacity, but legally responsible in making
key decisions in the best interest of the Lord Worshippers / Donors / Colony
residents associated with the temple. Trustees are supposed to manage and use the
available resources well for the beneficiaries i.e., devotees / Lord Worshippers /
Donors etc... Thus, the key duty of a temple trustee is Financial Management,
managing the funds in a proper and appropriate manner for which they are
specifically received / collected
In case of our Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam & Community Hall,
SBI Officers’ Colony, all-of-a sudden & confidentially, construction of a new
Building is undertaken within the Temple premises. The purpose is said to be for
providing residential accommodation to the Archakas, working for the Temple.
‘Very unfortunate to mention that None of the Devotees; Residents of our Colony
or any of the Archakas (working at present in the temple) are happy to support this
| decision for Building Construction within the Temple premises and very near the
Main Deity. Most of the people associated with the Temple express grievances
and displeasure. The ‘Vantasala’ carried out since inception is dismantled.
I tried to enquiring from few of the Trustees on the following .
(1) Whether any proper Resolution is being passed in detail on the proposed
Construction,
(2) How the Means are planned sufficient for construction; whether any
Building Fund is created for the specific purpose.
(3) Whether any approvals are obtained from the competent authorities.
| (4) What is the strategy adopted to raise the Donations for the Building fund.
(5) Who are the responsible Trustees to execute the Construction work.
| surprise to know that none of the Trustees could answer any of the above. Instead,
every one express grief and sigh in deep breath. No body knows in whose interest,
the construction is taking place and the reasons there-of for undertaking, such
construction, without taking a proper decision in the Board.
In view of the displeasure or grievances received ftom different comer of the
Colony Residents / devotees, our Association, but for no option, initiated
necessary correspondence with the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam &
Community Hall Trustees & their Board.
Regards
P. DHANUNJAYA RAO
President.
