Imagine you are writing a resume for a big company for the job position as the executive engineer. Each person in group must write their own resume. Compile and send them. Write them nicely and convincingly as if you are really applying for the job. Imagine your company has a magazine. Write a newsletter of any topic. Must be at least 4 pages long and have interesting news with appropriate pictures.

Assignment must at least be 3 pages long Include special typographic effects such as indentation, italics and boldface styles and graphics and several fonts of various sizes. At least TWO(one for resume) images must be included. It can be one piece of imported clip art from personal folder, Worlds clip art; and /or an image copied from the Internet. [10 Marks]

Assignment 2:

Microsoft Power Point You are required to create a PowerPoint 2007 presentation about yourself or a topic of special interest to you. Ive chosen this topic so you can concentrate on the details of learning PowerPoint rather than having to research a new topic. Ill leave the actual details up to you, but you might want to include such information as:

Education Work experience Career goals Hobby, family, travels, etc. Favorite author or place

Your presentation must include the following: Your name and the course name plus ID. No must be on the first slide. Minimum of 15 slides - Maximum of 20 PowerPoint slides. At least three different slides layouts - of which at least two must be from the Auto Layouts that come with PowerPoint. At least one transition effect when you move from slide to slide show must be set up to play automatically with a pre-determined interval for each slide. This interval can be different for each slide - it's up to you to determine the appropriate amount of time. Note that the transition effect will only appear in the original presentation. At least two different type fonts.

A color scheme (fonts, background, etc.) on at least one slide that it is different from the rest the presentation will be evaluated on its "readability". Keep this in mind when you select fonts, background colors or patterns. At least one use of bullets at different indentation levels. At least one clipart image (can come from ClipArt Gallery or elsewhere as long as the image is not restricted by copyright). At least one animation effect on one slide (use the animation effects that come with PowerPoint). Additional features of PowerPoint you can include if wish [optional]: Sound effects (you can use the ones that come standard with PowerPoint or find one yourself). Word Art and Smart Art Drawn shapes with colored or textured fill. [10 Marks]

Assignment 3:
Microsoft Excel This assignment will allow you to think about the capabilities of computers when used as a grade book and it will give you a better understanding of how Excel can assist you in record keeping.

Open a new file in Excel Type in 30 "Student" names. Make sure they are arranged alphabetically. Feel free to choose your own names! Row 1 should contain at least the following categories: o Name o Five assignments with each assignment being worth 100 points. (Quiz, Project, Midterm, Lab and Final exam) o Final score Assign grades for each assignment to each student. Average the overall class grade for each assignment. Find out the highest and lowest mark for each assignment. Weight the assignments so that: o Quiz = 10% o Project = 15% o Midterm = 15% o Lab = 20% o Final exam = 40% of final score Fill in the Final score column based on the above information. Highlight fonts or change line thicknesses of the top and bottom rows. Orient your gradebook to "landscape" so that the entire assignment fits on one page. Be sure to do a "Print Preview" to ensure that your gradebook appears on one page. Create chart for number of students per grade and move your chart to different sheet. Rename your sheet as Class Result.
