Subject: Job application for the position of Capacity Strengthening and Localization Advisor

Dear Sir/Madame,

I am writing to express my interest for the position of Capacity Strengthening and Localization Advisor
as per recent advertisement. With more than 9 years of experience in development sector with program
management, in-depth knowledge of development issues of Nepal, human right, right based approach,
senior level of management and networking experience with good technical knowledge and experience
working on TVET, I consider myself as one of the competent candidates for the position.

My work experiences span over a range of managing TVET and humanitarian projects funded by
various I/NGOs, bilateral and multilateral agencies, government agencies and private firms. The
works with the bi-lateral projects have been crucial to understand government's policies, process
and practices which are useful for policy advocacy and supporting government to formulate
appropriate policies.

Currently I have been working with the Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP),
Nepal, a pioneer organization in vocational training and child right sector in Nepal founded by late
Dr. Lindsay Alan Cheyne from New Zealand. Working in the capacity of Deputy Director, my key
responsibilities are namely leading the project team, managing programs, partners and program staff
ensuring quality of outcomes and documentation of learning, writing proposals and various reports
of the Organization, assist Executive Director to set the agenda and writing minutes of board
meetings. Being the second person of the organization, I have been supporting Executive Director
in strategic areas including in networking and coordination and communication with the
government agencies at all levels. I have been in front line position to deal with the Social Welfare
Council (SWC).

Prior to this, I worked as a focal person for various development and humanitarian projects. For the
period of 2014 to 2019, I successfully managed the project named STEP funded by Finn church
Aid. This project had made its interventions to enhance the livelihood opportunities of bonded
labor Haliya, Kamaiya and Kamalaris through skill training, soft skill training, financial linkage, job
placement of youths, community awareness in vocational training and mobilization, career counseling.
Besides this I assist to Career Counseling Expert from Finland to develop Career and skill counseling
manual for bonded labor.This project contributed to shape my knowledge and understanding in the
project implementation. After the massive earthquake of April 12, 2015, I managed the humanitarian
projects. Right after the third day of devastating earthquake, as a humanitarian coordinator, I engaged in
the distribution of food and non-food materials (2200 families affected by earthquake), construction of
Temporary Learning Centers (49 in Bhaktapur and Southern Lalitpur districts), running of Child
Friendly Centers, distribution of wash materials and construction and renovation of earthquake affected
community school buildings of southern lalitpur and Sindhuli districts.
Before UCEP Nepal, I worked with an NGO NAHUDA and managed small and medium size
projects funded by Nepal government and INGOs. During my tenure in NAHUDA, I developed my
skill to coordinate with government agencies and community mobilization.Having worked with the
range of organizations, thematic areas, partners and donors on inclusive programme, I am
enthusiastic to utilize my experience with FHI 360 Nepal. I look forward for an opportunity to discuss
