The major seafaring nations have established technical groups called marine classification
societies. Caterpillar has maintained standards and quality under the guidelines that are set forth
by the 14 major marine classification societies that are listed. For more information, refer to
Engine Data Sheet, 103.1 and Engine Data Sheet, 103.1.1 in the Caterpillar Technical Manual.
