CLASSIFICATION
3.1. THE CLASSIFICATION OF WORDS ACCORDING To THEIR STRUCTURE
English words may be classified on the basis of the kinds (free vs. bound
morphemes) and the combinations of morphemes (free + free, or free +
bound, or bound + bound) of which they are composed.
3.1.1. SIMPLE WORDS free base (= a free morpheme): stay,
flea, long, spirit, eucalyptus, Connecticut, (ở lại, bọ chét, dài, tinh
thần, bạch đàn, Connecticut)
3.1.2. COMPLEX WORDS bound morpheme
3.1.2.1.1.Complex words—FB (free-base) free morpheme
IC: lion —ess 'female'
un— 'not' certain
