Relationship between Agriculture and Microorganisms

To begin with, the relationship between agriculture and microorganism is that microbes
play an important role within crops, farm animals, soil, nutrient cycle and other agriculture
related. Agriculture and microorganism enable interactions between microorganisms to
plants, animals and environment.

First of all, microorganisms help in generating oxygen and carbon dioxide into useable
forms for multiple organisms including farm animals. Addition to that according to a study
they help animals in the digestion of feedstuff, they defend animals to infections and
some of them provides nutrients to the animal host.

Microorganisms are very beneficial to plants. There are some microorganisms that has
connection with plants such as nitrogen fixing bacteria. It helps in converting atmospheric
nitrogen into fixed nitrogen which provide nutrients and improve plant growth.

Microorganisms plays an important role in the soil such as bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.
They perform towards a range of functions that are beneficial to the soil and plants.
Addition to that they disintegrate pathogens which can cause disease to plants.

Most of us are aware that microorganisms can be found in every environment and they
have an impact our environment. A study found that the majority of photosynthesis on
Earth, a process that takes carbon from the atmosphere and produces oxygen as a
byproduct is carried out by microbes.
Lastly, microbiology plays an important role in ensuring the food safety. All throughout the
production, processing, preservation and food storage. In addition, for the creation of food
and meal ingredients, such as wine, beer, bakery goods, and dairy products, microbes
such as bacteria, molds, and yeast are used.

In conclusion, it is essential for an agriculture student to understand and learn about

microorganisms. Farm animals, growth of plants, food safety, and many other aspects of
agriculture can all benefit greatly from microorganisms. I was able to understand the
significance of microorganisms to agriculture throughout this course.
