1) Capstone Project Summary:

In the box below, please type out a 200 – 300-word summary highlighting the key points and
information that you plan to present during your Capstone Project presentation.

This is a journal for people that struggle with mental health and struggle with trying to reach out for help.
This journal to designed for people to get up and try and get their day started. I have a friend who
struggles with mental health, she struggles with depression, anxiety and ADHD and more. I see how and I
see how much she is fighting, and I wanted to make my capstone project for her. I personally know how
hard it is as well to deal with mental health and that it's hard to reach out for help because you feel like
you can't trust anyone, so I made this journal for a step to getting help.

In the boxes below, explain how your project or the work we’ve done in CLC 12 Class demonstrates

https://foundrybc.ca/
I didn’t use a lot of sites, but I did use foundry to research and learn more about mental health.

Didn’t you speak to some mental health professionals as well as Mr. Kemp? If so, you should add them
here, with a brief explanation of how they assisted/guided you.

Final Capstone Project Reflection Questions

(Please give specific detailed answers.)

1. In the process of completing your Capstone Project, what did you learn about your subject? What did
you learn about your skill set? What did you learn about yourself?
I learnt more about different kinds of mental health, and different strategies to cope if you are dealing with
mental health yourself. I didn’t know I was able to really create my own journal and finish it all in such a short
period of time.
2. How is your project relevant to you? How is it relevant to the school? How is it relevant to the
community?
I feel it's relevant to the community because everyone struggles with something, some harder than others.
This journal is a first step to getting help. I think this journal can also help with organization. Making sure your
room and you are clean and ready for the day. Having your room and self-care makes it easier to start your
day.
3. What impact did your Capstone have on you?
My capstone really made me investigate mental health more and learn about things others struggle with.
4. What aspects of your project are you most proud of?
I proud that the whole project because this project means a lot to me because of my best friend that struggles
with mental health. I'm proud of the setup of the notebook and the design and how it's very gender natural.
5. What was a difficulty you encountered while researching your Capstone project? How were you able to
overcome those obstacles?
I struggled with finding weekly questions that could surround all mental health combined.
6. What is the one thing you would have changed about your project if you could?
I would want to add more fun things to the journal, like stickers and fun images, but since there isn't much
time left, I'd like to just do my original idea and work with that.
7. What advice would you offer to future Capstone students to help them with their Capstone journey?
Don’t procrastinate, if you have time use that time, even if you’re out and let's say you're bored in the car and
you have nothing to do, make notes on your phone of what you want to add to it. Also, to do something you a
passionate about.
