Additional information

Projects  Western Desert-Upper Bahariya Reservoir Development

Jun 2013–present: The ultimate reserve of the Upper Bahariya sandstone reservoir is estimated at
millions of oil barrels. Fracturing stimulation techniques are the only way to develop Upper Bahariya.
This project witnessed the first successful implementation of multistage fracturing techniques like
pinpoint and sliding sleeves for horizontal wells in the Western Desert of Egypt. More than 500 hydraulic
fracture jobs were conducted during the development phase. My key contributions to the project were
the multistage fracturing stimulation optimization by microseismic fracture mapping, post-stimulation
production profile prediction, core analysis, geomechanical profiles construction & calibration, and
actual production profile analysis.

 The TUT and KAL Gas Lift Project

Jan 2021 - May 2023: Several wells had quit in the TUT and KAL fields and required support to flow to
the surface. Artificial lift (gas lift) has been identified as the best method to optimize production from the
wells reviewed in this case. In order to bring these wells back into production, four sets of compressor
packages and a complete surface network were established. My primary contributions to the project
were its initial planning, execution, development, and optimization.

 First Unconventional Reservoir (The Apollonia Tight - Gas Chalk Formation) Development in
Egypt’s Western Desert
Jan 2015 - Apr 2017: The Apollonia Formation of the Palaeocene to Mid-Eocene age is a pelagic chalk
characterized by a high porosity/low permeability soft chalky limestone. It does form a reasonable size
reservoir spread over several hundred kilometers in Egypt’s Western Desert. I was a team member of
the Apollonia exploration and potential evaluation project. My major contributions to the project were the
processes of multistage fracturing stimulation design/optimization, completion selection, post-
stimulation production profile prediction, core analysis, DFIT analysis, geomechanical profiles
construction & calibration, actual production profile analysis, economic analysis, and hydraulic fracture
evaluation.

 First Shale Gas (The Khatatba Formation) in Egypt: Exploration and Potential Evaluation
Apr 2014 - Oct 2014: The Jurassic organic-rich sediments of the Khatatba formations are considered
the most prolific oil and gas-prone source rocks. The Khatatba Formation ranges from 1,000 feet to over
2,000 feet thick in the Western Desert. According to the 2013 Energy Information Administration (EIA)
survey results, the Khatatba Shale contains approximately 535 TCF of risked shale gas in place. In
addition, the Khatatba Shale has about 114 billion barrels of risked shale oil in place. My principal
contributions to the project were fracturing optimization, core analysis, geomechanical profiles
construction & calibration, economic analysis, and hydraulic fracture evaluation.
