the UNTWO SDG

Sustainable Development Goal 2 - " Zero Hunger"
aims to banish hunger by the year 2030. This
targets people in vulnerable situations, children, and
even those with special needs. Zero hunger SDG
Baranggay Amelioration
means to supply nutritious foods and or to be able Program
to provide foods for those who doesn't have the
capacity to have food on their tables.

In this time of a pandemic where many lost their job and source of
income, a large number of people do not have equal access to foods B

and ends up with crying stomaches. The National Government a

provided Php 4,000 per family as a financial aid for their daily
r
necessities during lockdown. 18 million families were chosen for it's
a
first tranche, while the LGU of Taguig City gave a TAP or Taguig
Amelioration Program. Since not all resident families in our barangay n
were included in the said program, because only 8,000 families in our g
city were included in the list, the local council led by our Brgy. Captain
g
thought of an idea on how to give help to those who were not able to
receive the financial aid. And with this, they announced last March of a

2021 that they will make a program similar to those of the SAP and y
TAP. With the local council's initiation, the Barangay Amelioration
Program was given exclusively to the residents of Barangay Wawa.

More than 1,900 families residing in the said barangay were given an
amount of Php 1,000 as a compensation. This money made a great a
help especially for those who doesn't have any means to earn and w
became their source of living even for just a few days.

The pandemic made a big negative impact into our lives, but
because we are all affected this doesn't mean that we should
neglect the urge to help others. Many have lost their jobs, many
have an empty plate during the lockdown, many are dying of
hunger and not because of the virus. This program made for our
people was such a blessing from the heavens. A small amount
could come a long way for people in dire need of something to eat.

SDG 4: Good Health and
Well Being
Financial Assistance
for Vaccinated Senior
Citizens

Sustainable Development Goal 3 - "Good Health and Well Being" aims to secure the
good health and well being of people in all ages. The United Nations also aims to
achieve a global health that cover all kinds of means in order to have a safe and
effective medicines and vaccines for variious epidemics.

The global pandemic Covid19 who, up un til now has not yet known the cause,
gave scientist and professionals a very hard time especially in developing vaccine
to boost the immunity of people in such a very short amount of time. And after
these vaccines are presented and approved by the FDA and WHO, they started the
global distributions to every country especially the ones who are very prone to the
virus.
The Local Government of Taguig started giving out their first dose of vaccines last
May 2021. The senior citizens, people with special needs, and children are in the
top priority list of the individuals who are needed to be be vaccinated. And since
our Senior Citizens were the ones very vulnerable to the virus, the government
aims to encourage them to be vaccinated in order to strengthen their immune
system against the virus. But since fake news who are not very helpful kept on
spreading, many of our seniors are afraid to take their dose. That's why the local
council of our barangay thought of an idea to encourage every senior citizens
residing in the place. They announced that a financial assistance of Php 500 will
be given to every senior citizen that will be having their names registered to the
list of the people scheduled to be vaccinated, who are already compete in
vaccines, and even those who just have their 1st dose. And it did not disappoint
our local council because a total of 811 seniors were recorded to have been
vaccinated, this is equivalent to 77% of the total senior residents in Barangay
Wawa. Aside from this, vitamins and other essentials were also provided in order
to ensure the safety of our elderlies.
