tower crane.

Make sure there is enough

space for the installation, the tower

crane can slewing freely with no

interference with surroundings.

SLT160(L5523-12) Service Manual (NO.1)

2. Power supply preparation

Refer to safety symbol and

chapter 3 “Technical Specification”

for the requirements for the power

supply.

3. Lighting protection

Before operation, check the

lighting protection and grounding.

Commonly there are 3 grounding

Fig. 4-1
modes:

1) Normal ground stud made, 1.5m

φ33× 4.5 steel pipe, or 1.5m L70 ×70

angle steel (see Fig. 4-1).

2) 1m2 ground plate made of steel

plate or other extensible metal plate,

Fig. 4-2

bury it into the ground 1.5m (see

Fig. 4-2).
SLT160(L5523-12) Service Manual (NO.1)

3) Bury the section ≥ 28mm2 copper

conductor or ≥ 50mm2 iron

conductor into the groove 1.5m away

from the ground. The buried length

depends on the ground resistance

Fig. 4-3
(see Fig. 4-3).

1 The connection between the ground object and the tower crane

basic mast or base should adopt section≥ 25 mm² copper cable or ≥

100mm² anti-rust metal strip. The metal strip can be directly welded

onto the tower, and the cable can be connected through the screws.

2 The final ground resistance has something to do with the ground

object, the contact area with soil and the conductivity of the soil. Once

the ground resistance is less than 4Ω, it can be resolved by increasing

the conductivity of soil through ground object increase or salt.
