On Wednesday night at 6 PM, my groupmates and I had the privilege of interviewing two female
members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more commonly known as the Mormons.
The church is headquartered in Balogo, Sorsogon and has millions of members worldwide. During the
interview, we had a chance to learn about the church’s beliefs and practices, as well as the role it plays
in the lives of its adherents. The two women we interviewed were both very friendly and welcoming, and
they were eager to provide us with an insight into their faith. We were all very impressed with the depth
of their knowledge, and we found their enthusiasm for the religion inspiring. The two women explained
to us that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a restorationist Christian faith that was
founded in the early 19th century by Joseph Smith. They explained that the church holds that Smith was
a prophet who was divinely inspired to restore the original church of Jesus Christ. The women we
interviewed also described the importance the church places on the family unit. They told us that church
members are expected to spend quality time with their families and to take part in family activities such
as home evening. They also explained that the family is seen as a reflection of the Heavenly Father and
that families are to be kept strong and united in order to honor His name. The two women also
emphasized the importance of living a moral and ethical life. They told us that the church encourages its
members to strive to be honest, kind, and compassionate in all their dealings. They also explained that
the church expects its members to abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. Finally, they
explained that the church teaches its members to serve one another and to be good stewards of the
earth. Overall, it was an extremely informative and interesting experience. Through our conversation,
we learned about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its beliefs and practices. We also
discovered the importance the church places on the family unit and on living a moral and ethical life.
Furthermore, we gained a better understanding of the role religion can play in the lives of people who
are striving to be ethical and moral. The experience of interviewing two members of the Mormon church
certainly changed my perspective towards the religion. Before the interview, I was only familiar with the
more basic beliefs and practices of the church, but now I have a much better understanding of the
importance the church places on the family unit and on living a moral and ethical life. Furthermore, I
now have a greater appreciation for the role religion can play in the lives of those who are striving to be
good and moral people. In conclusion, our interview with the two female members of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an incredibly enriching experience. We learned a great deal about
the beliefs and practices of the church, as well as the importance it places on the family unit and on
living a moral and ethical life. Furthermore, we gained a better understanding of the role religion can
play in the lives of those who are striving to be ethical and moral. Overall, it was an extremely valuable
experience that has definitely changed my perspective towards the Mormon church.
