The Sanctuary

In the big house surrounded by trees, there was a grandma who was refused to

move out after her husband's death. Grandma did not want to leave her house, even

though Mick, her son-in-law, knowing that it would collapse in a storm. Mick and his

wife asked grandma to stay with them. Grandma accepted the request and stayed with

them for a while. While at her daughter's house, Grandma always sit by the window

and looked at her house from a distance. However, her view was blocked by an apple

tree. Grandma asked Shan, her grandson, to tell his parents cut down the apple tree.

Unfortunately, Shan's parents refused to remove it. Two days later, Mick went to his

orchard and surprisingly that the apple tree that Grandma wanted to cut had been

uprooted by a windstorm and none of the other trees had been damaged, not even a

single branch. Concerned about what might happen next, they decided to take

Grandma back to her own house. After Grandma moved back, Shan and his sister,

Mary, regularly visited her. One hot September night, a terrible storm struck.

Grandma asked Shan and his sister to leave the house. Shan did not want to leave, but

he had to do what she wanted. As they left the house, a heavy oak tree fell onto it,

trapping Grandma inside. When Shan's parents arrived to rescue her, they discovered

that poor Grandma had died in her house, just as she had wanted.
