1) Apostille/Consular Authentication
(Those who did not submit at the time of application)
Those who have not submitted the consular authentication or an apostille of
their transcript and graduation certificate at the time of application, the
student must submit the original documents after an apostille confirmation
or consular authentication from the Korean Consulate/Embassy in the
country the school is located.

※ Ensure that the correct amount (KRW) is deposited into the student’s virtual account shown
on the tuition invoice. The fee incurred when transferring the tuition must be paid separately,
and please make sure that the amount deposited after paying the fee matches the amount
of the tuition fee shown on the tuition invoice. The virtual account is a unique account
number for each student, and the name of the depositor does not have to be the student.

Category Description
How to Students who are residing in Korea must visit the Immigration Office to update
their visa status so that it will allow the student to study at an academic
apply institution in Korea.
※ Students residing in Korea with C type visa CANNOT change their visa
status to D-2 in Korea.
※ The D-2 visa application will be cancelled if student leaves Korea before the
change of visa status is permitted. Therefore, students should leave Korea
only after receiving the Alien Registration Card from the Immigration Office.
Notes
※ If students applied and are admitted to Korea University while studying at
another university in Korea, they must report their change of school status
to the Immigration Office.
Category Description
How to Students who are residing outside of Korea must visit the Korean
apply embassy/consulate in the country of their residence to apply for the D-2 visa.
Notes
※ Required time and documents for D-2 issuance may be different depending
on the country or region. Please note that the visa issuance may take even
longer due to COVID-19; so please contact the nearest South Korean
embassy/consulate in advance for more information so that there will be no
disruptions to your admission into KU
※ With new strict guidelines of visa issuance conditions and screening procedures, all
conditions ① to ③ of the ‘2) Issuance Requirements’ on page 5 must be satisfied.

■ Orientation Information
1. Dates: August, 2022 (TBA)
(It is expected be held in-person from August 22nd to 26th, and GSC will
inform you of the details separately through e-mail.)
2. Department-in-charge: Global Services Center (GSC) (Tel.+82-2-3290-5158/5174)
3. With new strict guidelines made by the National Health Insurance Act of
Republic of Korea, starting from March 2021, all foreign students (D-2 visa
holders) and overseas Korean (F visa holders) are required to hold a National
Health Insurance (NHIS). Further details of the registration procedure will be
provided by the Global Services Center (GSC).
However, the medical coverage of the national health insurance may not be
sufficient, so students are strongly advised to additionally acquire a private
health insurance for your stay in Korea.

3) Tuberculosis certificate
- Examination can be done at a public health center or a nearby internal medicine
clinic. (Only the results issued within 90 days of the date of joining the dormitory
are valid.)
※ Only students who have satisfied all these requirements above are allowed to enter the
dormitory. Students who wish to apply for the dormitory must check the
dormitory website (https://dorm.korea.ac.kr/) prior for the exact schedule.
6. Inquiries on Self-quarantine
International students who are currently residing abroad must check the self-quarantine
guidelines in advance. Notice on the period for self-quarantine, inspection before the
release and more may be subject to change, so please contact the Korean embassy or
consulate in the country of residence.
