1. BACKGROUND
This is a Group Assignment assessing on Learning Outcome 2 and 3. This assessment is designed to
test your application of the concept in Management Practice to a real-life organization/business.
Mainly:
• Ability to provide clearly stated activities that help employees and managers understand and
work toward common goals.
• Ability to examine the organizational environment in conjunction with the inner working of the
business.
• Ability to identify key success of future activities for the organization.

2. DETAILS OF ASSIGNMENT TASK


Students are required to form a group consist of *5 members and create one organization.
Students are then required to create new products or services based on your own creativity. The
report should focus on the following topics:

Types of Products or Services, Location, Logo, Organization Members)

3.0 Organizing

i. Organizational structure/ chart


ii. Basic structural formats/departmentalization (functional/product-
service/ geographic location/ customer classification department)
iii. Span of control (wide/ narrow)
iv. Locus of decision making (centralized/ decentralization)

4.0 Leading

i. Identify the leadership approach used by the manager in making sure


that your employees are working towards achieving the goals of the
organization. Relate your answer with any leadership theories. (What is
your leadership approach towards employees?)
ii. Identify the motivation approach used by the firm. Benefits for
employees. (How to increase the motivation of employees?)
iii. Identify the communication approach. (upward/downward)

1. Each group is COMPULSORY to do the presentation during the specified time.


2. All group members should participate in the presentation.
3. The duration of the presentation session should not exceed 20 MINUTES PER GROUP. Please
follow this duration as it will facilitate the marking process.
4. The sequence/part of the presentation will be according to the content of the report guidelines.
5. Each group needs to prepare slide presentation and there is NO restriction on the number of
slides.
6. The copy of the slide presentation should be combined together with the report.
7. Well attire is required.
8. The presentation evaluation criteria will remain as per guidelines.
