Abstract

Social interaction is considered one of the most important topics as it represents the
core of relationships established between people. It takes on various forms, such as
cooperation, competition, and adjustment. This interaction is facilitated by gaining
cultural awareness, where individuals acquire rules and standards for human behavior.
On the other hand, studying psychological attitudes towards others is crucial, as they
serve as prompts for behaviors. These attitudes are acquired from the surrounding
environment and can be either positive or negative.

This research aims to study both variables among Nahrin High School female students
in Erbil city. The primary question being investigated is whether there is a correlation
between social interaction and psychological attitudes toward others. Furthermore, the
nature of this correlation will be examined.

The population of this study includes students from high schools for the academic
year 2023-2024. The sample consists of 22 students from the eleventh grade who
were selected using simple random sampling.

Results:

1. The level of social interaction is high among the sample.

2. The level of positive psychological attitude towards others is high among the
sample.
3. There is a positive correlation between social interaction and psychological
attitudes toward others.

We have discussed these results and provided some suggestions.
