Syncing two Nextcloud Multiple Servers from two different sites involves
setting up server-to-server federation, which allows the two instances to
share files, folders, and other data. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to
achieve this:
Requirements:
• Two Nextcloud instances, each installed at a different site.
2 Generate Trusted Servers Token: On the first Nextcloud instance (Site A):
• Log in as an admin.
• Scroll down to the “Server Trust” section and click “Add trusted server.”
• Enter the URL of the second Nextcloud instance (Site B) and generate a
token. Copy the token for use in the next step.
• Log in as an admin.
• Scroll down to the “Server Trust” section and click “Add trusted server.”
• Enter the URL of the first Nextcloud instance (Site A) and paste the token
generated in Step 2.
• Log in as a user.
• Navigate to the file or folder you want to share with the other instance
(Site B).
• Click on the “Share” button and enter the email address of a user on the
second instance (Site B).
• Click “Share.”
7 Syncing Data: Once the share is accepted, the data will be synchronized
between the two instances. Changes made on one instance will be reflected
on the other. Note that synchronization might take a bit of time depending
on the size of the data and the available network bandwidth.
9 Repeat for Other Shares: You can repeat the process to share additional
files and folders between the two instances.
Remember that this setup requires both instances to have reliable internet
connectivity or a dedicated network connection between the sites. Also,
ensure that both instances are kept up to date and properly secured to
maintain the integrity and privacy of shared data.
