A. Analytical exposition
1. Definition
Analytical exposition text is a type of text that aims to explain opinions or arguments about
something in a logical way . This text focuses on in-depth analysis and explanation of the
topic discussed, as well as providing the author’s opinion on the topic.

2. Purpose and function


The purpose and function of analytical exposition is to express opinions accompanied by
logical arguments so that readers are convinced that the topic being discussed is important .
In short, this text contains the author’s opinion. This analytical text does not attempt to
change or influence the reader’s point of view.

3. Generic Structure
-Thesis
This section serves to introduce the topics that will be discussed in the text.This thesis
statement coview.This section serves to introduce the topics that will be discussed in the
text.ntains the author’s clear opinion regarding the topic, and is the basis for the argument
that will be presented in the text.
-Arguments
This section, the author can explain in more detail the topic discussed. In arguments , the
author also provides supporting arguments based on logical facts or data.
-Conclusion
The final part is the conclusion. Here, the author will repeat the thesis statement and main
arguments that have been presented previously. The purpose of reiteration is to remind the
reader of the author’s opinion and provide a strong conclusion.

2. Use connective words or linking words to connect ideas. Connective words can be written
in the form of phrases, clauses, sentences or paragraphs. To add ideas or opinions , you can
use: besides, furthermore, in addition to , etc. To compare several ideas , you can use: while,
vice versa, whereas, but, on the other hand, henceforth, etc. To show cause and effect , you
can use: because, by, despite, as a result, etc.

The Importance of Learning Sport

Thesis: Sports are a crucial part of a student’s growth and development. They help in the
development of mental health and physical fitness of the body.
Arguments: Given below are the reasons why sports and games are essential in a student’s
life: Sport can improves physical and mental health of a student. Sports is played between
teams in a healthy competitive environment which ensures that the student remains active
and fit. Sport also empowers students with life skills. It enhances their capabilities and helps
them to have a better understanding of themselves. Sport can make us learn time
management and discipline. Constructive use of time and discipline is a major characteristic
of any sportsperson. It also improves our leadership and team building qualities and boost
self-confidence.
Reiteration: The sport is important for us. Through participation in sports and games, a
student gains various skills, experience and confidence that are helpful for developing their
personality.
