Objectives Students will understand the concept of equivalent fractions and least common multiples.
Students will be able to add two proper fractions with equal denominators, deal with mixed
fractions results, and perform simplification when necessary.
Students will identify and demonstrate an understanding of equivalent fractions by applying
the concept to real-life scenarios and mathematical examples.
IFL Integrate Christian faith into the classroom by fostering a learning environment that encourages students
to explore and understand the connections between their academic studies and Christian principles,
promoting values such as compassion, integrity, and stewardship.
Strategies Utilize visual aids, multimedia presentations, and other visual tools to enhance understanding and cater
to different learning preferences.
Procedures Monday :
Begin the class with a discussion on real-life examples of fractions, using the pizza example
mentioned. Discuss how fractions represent parts of a whole.
Use visual aids and fraction manipulatives to model the addition of fractions. Demonstrate
how equivalent fractions make adding fractions with common denominators easier. Encourage
student participation.
Discuss scenarios where the result of adding fractions is a mixed fraction. Introduce the
concept of simplifying the result.
