vertical stress (i) at a depth of 10 m below point A and (i) at a depth of 5 m below point B.

3. Sieve analysis was conducted on a soil sample and it gave the following results. The void
ratio was 0.55 at the site and its particle shape was found to be round. [7 Marks]

and, effective stress diagrams for the entire depth along sections AA and B-B. [12 Marks]
