JOB PURPOSE

This is an exciting opportunity to conduct strategic social research and inform the design,
development and implementation of behavioural change interventions in support of environmental
conservation. Occasional visits to Oxford, UK are anticipated. Costs will be covered by employer.

S!L!RY

R$ 6000 a month.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement social research to inform the development of culturally appropriate
behavioural change activities.

• Develop and refine strategies relating to behavioural change.

• !ssist in the design of project monitoring and evaluation, as well as data collection and analysis

• Support staff and potentially students in research collection.

• Support in the development of fundraising proposals .

• Produce timely and accurate technical reports, coordinating the inputs of team members and
partners.

• Carry out ethics assessments for social science research.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL !ND !BILITY

Essential
• Qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills. !t Masters level or above.

• Excellent communication and written skills.

• Experience of applying social science techniques.

• ! strong understanding of contemporary conservation issues.

• Fluent English and Portuguese, written and spoken

• High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point)

Desirable

• !n understanding of behavioural change theories and the tools used to achieve behaviour change.

• Expertise and experience of designing, conducting and analysing social research.

• Working knowledge of R.

• Knowledge of e.g., SPSS, NVivo or equivalent social science research analysis tools.

• Experience in proposal, technical report and academic writing.
