TOPIC: PROBLEM-BASED APPROACH IN LANGUAGE ACQUISITION

SYNOPSIS

It is a teaching methodology that emphasizes the use of real-world problems as a


context for language learning. In this approach, students work in groups to solve real-
world problem using language. By using real-world problems as a context for language
acquisition, students are able to apply the language they are learning in a meaningful
way. Moreover, this approach is designed to be student-centered and promotes critical
thinking, creativity, and collaboration, which are important skills for success in the 21 st
century. The teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding the students to use the target
language to communicate and collaborate effectively. In this way, it will help students to
develop their language skills in a way that is relevant, practical and engaging.

TOPIC: TEACHING ENGLISH WITH PROBLEM-BASED APPROACH

SYNOPSIS

Problem-Based is one teaching approach out of many that is useful in teaching English.
It promotes and seen as efficient in learning as it encourages interpersonal skills that is
necessary in the success of achieving goals, skills and life-long learning in the 21 st
century. Teaching English with Problem-Based approach helps students develop their
English language skills in a practical and engaging way. It uses real-world problems as
a context for English language learning. With the help of Problem-Based approach in
teaching English, students are able to grasp real-life learning as it allows them to take
control of their own learning. Students are able to explore the language, learn new
words and gain knowledge that is relevant and meaningful to them.
